PARTNER

The Baie de Somme Joint Syndicate is a new partner of Concordia. This summer, they organize four different projects, all focused on protecting coastal nature and biodiversity, especially with tourism. This project helps raise awareness while involving international volunteers in a real experience. Local partners will welcome you and make sure your stay is safe, friendly, and interesting. You will meet local people, tourists, and organizations, which will help you discover the area and share cultures.

WORK

Join us on the coast and take part in a project to protect dunes and beaches Your mission will be to inform visitors about good practices, especially during the nesting season of little plovers, to protect these fragile birds and their natural habitat. You will create and run information stands, prepare and lead awareness activities, and organize educational walks for people staying in local campsites. You will meet visitors, share your knowledge, and encourage them to respect the environment. This project is a real experience in environmental education. You will learn about the impact of tourism on natural areas and why it is important to protect them.Come discover a unique natural area, between dunes and beaches, and help protect it

ACCOMODATION AND FOOD

You will stay in your own tent at Camping des oiseaux. A big shared tent will be used for meals and group time, and as a shelter if it rains. Toilets and showers are available at the campsite.Group life is an important part of the experience: everyone helps with daily tasks and cooking. A budget will be managed to buy food, with a focus on fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy meals.

LOCATION & LEISURE ACTIVITY

The project takes place in the Baie de Somme, a beautiful natural area with dunes, marshes, and wetlands. It is a Grand Site de France and attracts many visitors, so protecting nature is very important. You will also have the chance to visit places like the Samara archaeological park or World War I sites. In summer, there are markets, festivals, and local events.Fort-Mahon-Plage is a popular seaside town in summer. There, you will meet many tourists and apply your awareness in real situations. This project combines environmental action, discovery of nature and culture, and meeting local people.
